Dear Concerned,

I am a non US, non resident but holding a B1/B2 US visa and TIN for the last 3 years. Have used a credit card issued by Bank of america too for more than 3 years.

I am willing to make some investment in US home market and wonder if i may qualify for home loans.

I agree 100%. I recommend locking to all my clients immediately. I personally believe that interest rates have more upside risk than downside risk and locking is the most prudent thing to do in this environment. Lock in Now

Building a good credit score basically depends on how to manage your expenses. Use your credit cards lightly by limiting charges within 10-30% of your card's limit. The lower percentage the better. Try cutting back on any of your luxury expenses to keep you from relying on credit cards. Pay all of your bills promptly or make at least the minimum payment on time.

The Home Affordable Modification Program is an excellent program if you can get through the application! After taking days to read & understand how to fill out & quality for HAMP I was able to lower my interest rate to 2%. The application was so confusing because they want you to fail! Now that I understand how to qualify I was able to help my neighbors get approved usually in about 30 days!

That was a thought-provoking post if ever I have seen one. I can't say that I completely agree with you about the tax credit for home purchase though, could you clarify your thoughts on that?
